Specializing in Historic Motor Racing Photography

Graham Ruckert Photography has been involved with motor sport in Queensland since 1968, and has a large image library covering circuit racing, rallies, hillclimbs and club events from the late sixties to the present. At the moment the main coverage being provided is to Historic Racing events.

Historic motor racing is one of the fastest growing racing categories in the world today. As more people are becoming aware of the importance of preserving our motor racing heritage, more cars are being prepared and raced than ever before. Of course, there are a number of advantages. The basic car in many cases can be purchased for a relatively small sum of money, and providing you have a few extra grand to throw at it to make it race ready you are in business! There are a growing number of events and types of events to attend, and the atmosphere is definitely very "clubby", and reminiscent of the scene in the sixties.

Queensland is fortunate to have a number of clubs devoted to these events, and some great venues. Lakeside, Mt Cotton, Warwick, Leyburn and now Noosa are all becoming renowned as top venues for this level of motorsport. While track racing events have been the mainstay of this category in the past, sprints, rallies and hillclimbs are gaining in popularity both with drivers and spectators alike.

Shown here are just a few samples of photos taken at recent Historic Racing events. Further coverage is given in the Racing Reports pages, with reports on recent events and more photo galleries.
